Our advocacy work is designed to change policy and practice to improve national child and family welfare systems in Uganda.

Our advocacy work focuses on five areas: policy influence, capacity building, evidence &research, partnerships/networking, and media engagements.

Considering gender is a key driver of vulnerability for children and youth, we invest in capacity and ensure that all programmes are increasingly contributing to gender equality. All our projects are designed with reference to a gender marker to achieve a minimum score of 1 (Significant), based on the OECD-DAC criteria. We target a minimum 60 per cent girls and young women as programme participants. All programme data is always Sex, Age and Disability Disaggregated (SADD), to inform improved programme design, quality and targeting.

Whereas we are not a specialized organization for supporting children and youth with disabilities, we always seek to develop partnerships with specialized agencies, and create clear protocols, training and referral mechanisms for supporting programme participants with disabilities.
